Every travel kid needs a travel journal. We have tried a couple of different ones and our absolute favourites are these one from My Big Adventure. They have multiple, educational, travel diary and activity books depending on your destination. Currently the Aussie one is aimed at travellers going on holiday for 30 days or less, but they have a new, Big Lap version coming soon, aimed at long term travellers like us.

We headed off with normal towels and quickly regretted it. They took up heaps of space, took ages to dry, were heavy when wet and I couldn’t fit them in the van washing machine. Newlyfe, sand free, quick dry bath and beach towels are great value, large but still lightweight and compact, I can fit four in the washer, and I love the handy hanging loop.
GOOD RIDDANCE MOZZIE REPELLANT
After trialling many repellents, I am now a Good Riddance convert. After 6 months of using it, I can confidently say it works well, even in tropical areas like Darwin and Bali. It smells great and its totally natural and DEET free. I use the cream and the essential oil in a diffuser for the van, mainly because it smells so good and it also keeps the mozzies and midges away.
